The standards are maintained in high-quality Hot Press paper. it's a joy to paint on since I've only used Cold Press. It's worth purchasing to ensure one doesn't get low in stock. Highly recommend.

I ordered the refill paper first, to see if I liked the paper quality before ordering the ringbound sketchbook. It's amazing that this lovely cotton paper can take so many glazes without buckling, yet still be thin enough to be practical to use as journal pages. The paper is called hot press, but the texture seems a midway point between hot and cold press, which makes it a bit more forgiving than most hot press, but still easy to get fine botanical details. The color is a very nice shade of off-white, not as white as "bright white" watercolor paper yet not as cream-colored as "natural white." For me the paper size is just right for journaling, not too big not too small. Can't wait till the sketchbook arrives!

The sketch book is beautiful! It came super well packed and arrived just before Christmas. The watercolor paper is thick and great to paint on. I just received my order of refills, and they came also beautifully packed.
